One True Love

- Hammersmith Town Hall -
Tess & Angus were getting married in the grand old Town Hall at Hammersmith, Tess told me it was the same venue that back in the 1960’s her parents also tied the knot and that before she and Angus moved back to Oz, they would like to make official their partnership here too. As I like to, with all the couples I work for, I had a phone call with them following on from the initial email conversations and on that call I felt like we’d be the perfect fit for each other for their special day. They came across as very relaxed and charming, they both liked the work I’ve done in capturing real emotions naturally, without formality and I could sense a gentle and loving aura about them that persisted throughout our conversations (I love an emotional connection).
On the week of their wedding we had already invited my wife’s Auntie and Uncle to visit and this presented a number of opportunities: firstly that we could all travel to London, giving my wife and Auntie Eva the chance to visit Kew Gardens and secondly, that Uncle Janusz, a keen photographer, could join me on documenting Tess & Angus’s amazing day.
As always I arrived early and boy I’m glad I did, it was quite a muggy day and the Tube line from Richmond, where we’d parked up, had been cancelled due to a line fault, so it meant that the fastest way (apart from a taxi) to get to Hammersmith was to walk. It’s not a journey by foot I’d ever done before so it was a great opportunity to see parts of London I never had, alongside the river and all the private school boat houses with hundreds of students training on the water. When we arrived at Hammersmith Town Hall, still early thank goodness, we were a tad warm to say the least, fortunately we were allowed in to dry out, freshen up and cool down before the big day started.
It was such a fantastic day, starting off sunny as the guests arrived, Janusz and I captured the genuine love and joy radiating from Tess, Angus, family and friends. The venue was spectacular with a marble walled central hall with glass panelled roof. I usually favour Black and White but as you’ll see from the gallery I just couldn’t hold back from the colour in Tess’s beautiful dress.
Following the ceremony we walked to the river by Hammersmith bridge, to a pub to toast the occasion before heading off to a garden for the reception. En route the heavens opened but fortunately by the time we arrived at the garden the sky once again cleared and we enjoyed the lovely intimate surroundings, as guests mingled and the equally hilarious and poignant speeches were performed.
Both Janusz and I felt so welcome and comfortable that day, Tess, Angus, Family and friends were all a joy to be around and taking a look back over the photos from that glorious day I got a little emotional, so much love and affection radiating from all present.
Thank you Tess and Angus for including us in your incredible day x
